Pippa Fleetwood-Read will join ISHA in October as our new Chief Executive.

Upon accepting the role, Pippa said:

“I am passionate about what can be achieved when residents and local associations work together in their communities.

"I was lucky enough to meet two ISHA residents through the recruitment process. They made me feel very welcome and gave me an insight into the variety of challenges I will work with residents on.

"I’ve always been hugely impressed by ISHA’s strong reputation for local delivery, partnership building and values-led action, and I’m thrilled to be its new Chief Executive."

Pippa is a respected housing professional with 20 years of dedicated experience in providing quality homes and places, reducing homelessness, supporting vulnerable individuals, and empowering communities.  

In March, we met up with some of you over a curry at the Priory Court Community Centre in Waltham Forest, and there were lots of useful chats.

We really appreciate meeting you face to face, getting to know you, and identifying the issues and areas of concern you want us to address.

Neighbourhood Nights are an excellent opportunity to meet staff in person and discuss anything related to your tenancy. We're taking a short break over the summer for the Neighbourhood Knock, but never fear, Neighbourhoods Nights returns later in the year.

This summer, our staff will be out knocking on doors to talk to you about your experience of ISHA. In addition to hearing your feedback, we'll also use this opportunity to check the information we hold about you and your household to help us plan and deliver our services to you effectively.

In July and August, staff will visit selected estates in Islington and Hackney. Working in pairs, they'll speak to you in person, record any issues that need completing and update you on the opportunities available for you to get involved in shaping the services we provide.

There will be more information on our website in the coming weeks, and we'll also be sending our letters to the people we're hoping to meet, so you know when to expect us.

Barclays are hosting a 'Career Discovery Day' at their HQ in Canary Wharf on Thursday, 19 June.

The day is a great opportunity for you to get information and advice on kickstarting your career and how to create a professional brand. It includes advice for social media, networking, writing your CV and practicing those all important interview skills. You'll even get a tour of Barclays Headquarters and a light lunch is provided.

Your safety is always our top priority. Even if you're careful, accidents can still happen. Fires in the kitchen can start in seconds, and it's important to know what to do and how to safely extinguish a pan fire.

• Don't tackle the fire yourself, and don't move the pan.
• Never throw water over a fire, as it could create a fireball. 
• Turn off the heat to stop the fire from growing, but only if it's safe to do so.
• Leave the room, close the door, warn others, and call 999 for emergency services.

While we insure the building and anything we provide, we don’t cover your home’s contents and belongings. You have a home full of things that you need and love – clothes, TV, kitchen appliances, keepsakes, furniture, and gadgets. You can protect them with contents insurance. 

Royal and Sun Alliance provides contents insurance for ISHA residents.

Earlier this month, the nation took a moment to remember the sacrifices and bravery of many people as part of the VE80 celebrations, marking 80 years since 'Victory in Europe' (VE) Day – the end of World War Two in Europe.

We're proud to have played our part in rebuilding London after the war. This included a housing scheme in Highbury called Aberdeen Park. You can see how the estate looks today in the above photo, and in 2025, we still house ISHA residents there in both social and supported housing.
